American Airlines Sucks

I will never fly American Airlines again after the poor service that I have received.

Yesterday, I they lost my luggage, including Prof. Steve Steve. I filed a claim with their baggage people at the Halifax Airport. I was given a number and told to call it if I didn’t hear from them in 24 hours.

Well, I just called the number and found out that my baggage was in Toronto and the people at Halifax airport never filed a lost baggage claim. They have just now made arrangements for my baggage to be put on an Air Canada flight this afternoon. (That should have been done yesterday.) I should have my baggage delivered to me this evening but not before the conference starts.

I just hope that my sweaty clothes dry out in time for registration.

I’ve had United Airlines and Air Canada do the same thing to me. Flying from San Jose to Toronto via LAX my bags didn’t make the cross-terminal transfer. It took them two days to locate my bags. I’ve had American and British Air do the same thing passing through Hethrow (twice on one trip, no less.)

It’s not one airline, it’s all of them.

Yes they suck!! I’m too tired for details now, because I was trapped at Laguardia for 3 days. The staff was rude, they lied, they lost my luggage. My connection flight cancelled, leaving me in the twilight zone of stand-by. If it wasn’t for Greyhound, I would still be imprisoned at the Laguardian Detention Center. Greyhound took 26 hours of cramped travel, but, by golly, the staff was friendly and they got me home!!!! I will never, ever fly AA again, nor will I set foot in a Laguardian terminal! Hiwaymutt

My wife and I were trapped in Dallas for 3 days. The airline had the flight SITTING on the taramc for 5 hours before calling the flight for boarding, then they cancelled it due to insufficient staff. This of course was written off as ‘weather related’, so they of course will not pay for our accomodations etc.

They SUCK!!!

i hate american airlines! their staff is SO rude. they have lost my luggage 4 out of the 5 times i have used them over the last year. after i was yelled at by a staff member, followed by the sarcastic remarks i got by his manager, the tears came. i felt so stupid for repeating my business with them after so many bad experiences. although i would like to save money by using them, i’d much rather pay extra to be treated respectfully by another airline. AA: NEVER AGAIN!!

PS if you try to contact them with complaints, they force you to use email and if you’re lucky they will respond. guess they are used to being bombarded with complaints…

I had a friend who lost his baggage also. It was never found. I have had the unpleasant opportunity of meeting some of AA’s pilots and stew broads and wouldn’t put it past any of them if they stole the luggage because it had nice clothes. Nice, expensive clothes are hard to find when your job has been cut back, so maybe disappearing luggage is being used for other means. My friend has very nice expensive clothing and he will never see it again. When I arrived home after an AA flight not too long ago, my luggage had totally been rummaged through. It was a disaster. It looked like someone was looking for something they wanted to keep. I will never fly AA again. I was also harassed by some of the crew after the flight and I wrote to the CEO and nothing was done. I gave him the name of the employees and they said they would forward it to security. What a crock. There is more going on behind the scenes than we know.

I ran into a nut claiming he is Tony Accardo, Jr. and he said he is running a prostitution ring out of O’Hare and Midway for this line. He is a nut. He gave me his email [Enable javascript to see this email address.] What a loser. I guess some pilots can’t get it on their own.

American Airlines need to respect people who spend their hard earned cash for their lousy service. They delayed my baggae for 4 days and I could not get an answer from the telephone number they gave me.I was never rembursed my extra taxi fare I spent to the airport 4 times .Now They lost my son’s baggage from November 2006 and all he has been getting is promises for re-embursment.To date Jany 2008 , he has heard nary a word.He requested that they reroute the cash to me on December 25, 2007 and was advised that the money would be sent forthwith . They have not done so.Well tnhere will bea major court issue in this one.Someone needs to bell the cat.Poor , terible , horrible service must not be tolerated .

My Golf Clubs were lost on a flight from Miami to Chicago. The Airlines sent them on the flight ahead of us. They did not show up. Of course not they were sitting there unattended saying come steal me. There policy is 12 weeks before any compensation. I am leaving for Hawaii with my wife and 2 kids flying 1st Class with American Next week with no clubs on a vacation we have saved years for. They will not pay for my rentals. When you ask for a number to call Customer Service there is no such Number. How Convienient. “Send a Fax. I have sent 4 Faxes with no Response.

American Airlines Sucks No wonder they are all going out of business.

AA sucks big time! My daughter left her camera on board with all her trip pics. I have called NEWARK lost and found a half dozen times. NO ONE has called me back.… no one cares! What happen to good customer service. They have lousy employees and horrible customer care. If you are smart do not fly with them.

We flew to Florida recently and they lost our luggage for three days. American Airlines never apologized or followed up. We had to call them for three days to find our luggage. Their flight attendants and gate attendants are the worst in the industry. I could teach customer service classes on “How not to Treat Customers” by filming American’s lacadazical and rude employees. I fly alot and always make it point to avoid American but the few times a year I have to use them and they always make my point. NEVER FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES - THEY SUCK.

I was supposed to fly back from Miami on AMerican on Sunday. They delayed my 7 am flight until 3 pm so I decided to stay another day. When I go to the airport, American told me my ticket was invalid because I didn’t cancel the “reservation”. Delta/ US Air/ Jetblue doesn’t do this. I checked the same day.

I left my canon digital camera on an American Airlines flight #1835. (St. Louis, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois O’Hare Airport on Sunday, April 6th; this flight was then leaving Chicago O’Hare Airport and heading to San Francisco Airport) on my seat and then got off of the plane. I called AA customer service right away and they told me to contact O’Hare Airport AA Lost and Found. There, customers are only able to leave messages and they will only return your call if the item has been returned. I just wanted to speak to a ‘live’ person but I wasn’t able to. I had a little hope that it would get returned but now that it has been a week and I haven’t received a call, I’ve lost all hope and all my pictures from a wedding. Now after reading everyone’s comments about the cleaning staff having first dibs, it really makes me sad! **If anyone finds a canon digital camera in a blue case, please let me know! Thank you!** ([Enable javascript to see this email address.])

After 5 long weeks of work on the Gulf I finally get to go home or so I thought. American Airlines strands its customers and rebooks them on flights that are already cancelled. 3 days is ridiculous and they never got me home I had to rent a car and drive 14 hours got a 181.00 speeding ticket thanks American Airlines. I just called to rebook the flight and catch this.….….……they wanted to charge me a 100 dollar rebook fee plus fare increase 325 dollars was the total my original ticket was 182 that I never got to use. It is time we stand up to American Airlines I am purchasing a web domain to accomplish that very thing a nationwide boycott of American Airlines. Captain John Black

they are still better than other airlines not withstanding …i dont agree with the fact that they are not fuctioning properly

That’s amazing. Usually it’s Air Canada that loses our bags.

I flew American Airlines back from Chicago the other day and somehow misplaced my wallet. I’m currently compiling a list of places to phone. Depending on where you think you might have lost something you have to call different places. Gate area, the airline. Public area, the police. I noticed the Admiral’s club has only a fax number. Sigh. The airline says things lost on the plane is the airport’s responsibility and the airport says call the airline.

Maybe take them to small claims court for those unpaid expenses, if they’ve actually agreed to pay? A fax would be useful there if they responded because you’d have it in writing.

Just don’t pack anything breakable. I noticed the tips said not to put jewellery into your checked luggage.

I had been building up my AAMiles and accumulated enough to redeem them for 2 not so free seats to Paris. On the day of our departure, my wife was pregnant and wasn’t very mobile that day, plus the traffic on the way to JFK wasn’t the best, but at the end of the day we got there 55 minutes before the the flight was scheduled to depart. they didn’t make any exceptions and booked us another flight later that day. I was pissed! 5 minutes late and you go and do this to me. I’ve flown over 250,000 miles on AA, but it didn’t matter. IT GETS BETTER. on the flight the head flight attendant, a short bald, little jerk, was completely out of line and I could have easily knocked his teeth in but of course I wouldn’t dare because who wants to be arrested on Federal Charges. I think that they know that they can get away with being rude, abrasive, just intolerable. Anyway, I got up out of my seat to go to the restroom and as the little snot went down the aisle he stopped next to where I was sitting and placed his foot on my seat as he reached for something in the overhead compartment. My wife was there and said that someone was sitting there and then he mumbled something under his breath that got a chuckle from his mates. When I came back and later confronted him, he turned around and said that his shoes weren’t dirty and said that he already apologized.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable and AA has not given me any satisfaction after I’ve lodged a complaint with them. They don’t care. So I am never, ever flying them again, unless I know for sure that that little prick is on the flight. I have a score to settle.

AA lost my luggage in February, After filing a claim (instructed by them) months of calling claims department, I receive a postcard, yeah a postcard ,stating they did not find my bag, and that’s it. No compensation, my trip was the pits, all my winter cloths were in my lost bag, I had to buy everthing new. Spending time on hold with AA to receive responses saying they can not locate the bag, call back tomorrow. There has to be a place to call that handles these types of issues. Does anyone know?? AA can not get away with this.

American airlines does suck.. they lost my baggage several times.. never fly american airlines.. no compinsation,, what can i do?
