In Lisp, it’s

(remove-if #'(lambda (char) (find char "-+=")) s)

Haha that’s a good one. I got an AQ of 32:

Scores over 32 are generally taken to indicate Asperger’s Syndrome or high-functioning autism, with more than 34 an “extreme” score.

Matthias,

Thanks for the bug report. I just got 8.1 and hadn’t tested pdfpos on it. I’ve just produced pdfpos 1.1 [DL], but I did the patch differently than you. I use a regex to see if the window name contains the file name instead of seeing if they are equal.

Posted by Matthias on July 19, 2007 9:25 PM

Me again. I dived into the API documentation to fix the problem.
Apparently Acrobat 8.1 gives the real window title in response to $avdoc->GetTitle(). Meaning:
“title_of_the_file - Adobe Acrobat Professional”.
Because of the “ - Adobe Acrobat Professional” part it never equals $f.
But I fixed it: http://wilma.vub.ac.be/~mstevens/latex/pdfpos.ba…

(it is somewhat hackish I’ve been learning Perl on the fly here :-).

Hope this helps others too!
Greetings,

-Matthias

Opening (view) works, closing (close) does not…
Acrobat 8.1 Professional.
Closing does not trow an error but Acrobat keeps the pdf open.

Dante described seven circles of hell, the lowest level being of ice. Remember when you reach that level at least it is cold and in the cold you become numb and really don’t feel anything. So once you’ve passed the level filled with clerks and airline agents it’s not far.

Sorry that the trip back was so awful.
Good to see you in Halifax.

My wife and I were trapped in Dallas for 3 days. The airline had the flight SITTING on the taramc for 5 hours before calling the flight for boarding, then they cancelled it due to insufficient staff. This of course was written off as ‘weather related’, so they of course will not pay for our accomodations etc.

They SUCK!!!

I agree!!! squidbillies is the funniest show EVER!!! And I mean EVER!!!!! I just preordered the 2 DVD set of the firt season plus extras!!!

Yes they suck!! I’m too tired for details now, because I was trapped at Laguardia for 3 days. The staff was rude, they lied, they lost my luggage. My connection flight cancelled, leaving me in the twilight zone of stand-by. If it wasn’t for Greyhound, I would still be imprisoned at the Laguardian Detention Center. Greyhound took 26 hours of cramped travel, but, by golly, the staff was friendly and they got me home!!!!
I will never, ever fly AA again, nor will I set foot in a Laguardian terminal!

Of course, American Airlines refused to pay for the rental car. They’d put the four of us up in separate rooms at the brand new Hilton near the Halifax Airport and pay for four meals for each of us, but paying for a one-night rental car was out of the question. At that point we didn’t care. We were tired of dealing with American Airlines and just wanted to get home. So we worked our way through US customs. Again. Despite the fact that nothing had changed about me or my carry ons, the second time through they required that I get additional screening and had one of my bags hand searched.

Yeah, but you probably looked like you wanted to kill someone that second time through…

I’ve had United Airlines and Air Canada do the same thing to me. Flying from San Jose to Toronto via LAX my bags didn’t make the cross-terminal transfer. It took them two days to locate my bags. I’ve had American and British Air do the same thing passing through Hethrow (twice on one trip, no less.)

It’s not one airline, it’s all of them.

Yay! I’m so glad you didn’t lose your entire wardrobe! Maybe when the bag that “went to Toronto” shows up, you will have twice as many clothes! Or maybe a suitcase filled with money. Even better.

We all have logic and can think. I believe many of the Datwin’s FANs are emotional than scientifical. If the Natural Selection is true than were is Tom & Jerry? Where is Micky mouse? why we don’t have a speaking cat or mouse …etc? They have evolved as we did - per darwin’s- and the “ good features” eveolves and remains, so whay not them? Are we going to have Cat talks in the future? of course not, so what why to argue?

Many experements has been made on Carbons to simulate the original “First life DNA” and it didn’t work , it will never work…

Other important matter. Darwin didn’t know there is a DNA , so we can simply tell the Father Mother or some one , The DNA tree is now available. Ask the scientest if they can proof that the Cat and the Apple has the same origin ???
This is Madness…

Suppose that all this was due to Natural selection , how can we explain the cooprative liviing? was it by chance that we -as humans- can eat specifc food? and Animals other type of food , and fish third type of food? how all this happned? by chance??
If we leave amotions aside, the only answer is that God has created all this, wait till you die and you will believe it.

PT et al. are now up again, running on our new server—a little sooner than expected. This will mean that we will have to take them down to make scheduled changes to the new server that we have not had a chance to implement.

The backend of PT will be down for a while longer.

Uh oh, I was right. Dave is now comparing Gonzalez to people killed by the Nazis:

Plus, check out Dave’s insightful commentary, showing his deep knowledge of academia:

Any university without the ideological bias would be thrilled to have such a prolific young astronomer on staff.

Yeah, I’m sure Bob Jones is all set to scoop him up.

Hey Reed, can we hang out at your house? ATBC’s been down for a day and a half now and we’re all suffering withdrawal. :-(

Think of all the things Dave Scot could be doing that are going unridiculed!
